Mandarin Conversation for Young Adults

 ‘Mandarin conversation for young adults’ focuses on communicative functions. Each lesson follows a topical line that stresses the communication of school and social life. This course covers basic pronunciation, intonation, simple and practical expressions used in everyday life. Students will learn Mandarin in a relaxed environment. The objective is to help learners to lay a foundation in Mandarin on which to improve.


This 30 hours course is targeted for junior high/high school and university students. It consists of 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Level. Placement test (speaking) is required except beginner level.

  • Introduce pinyin system (CD) 

  • Expressions of greetings, introducing one another
  • Able to talk about one’s family; Able to ask about other’s family 
  • Able to assess themselves 
  • How to ask & answer “what time is it?”
  • How to say dates, months, years. 
  • How to describe weather in Mandarin Four Seasons; Four seasons’ features 
  • Some names for Chinese dishes, Sentence patterns: 我喜欢…(like…)我不喜欢…(I don’t like…) 
  • Comparing objects; Comparing people/places 
  • Learn Vocabulary through Pop songs
