BUSINESS CORRESPONDENCE at Sampoerna Language Centre



OVERVIEW

This 20 hour course is designed for people who wish to improve their ability to correspond effectively in business English. The course emphasizes two skills:  writing and grammar usage needed to succeed both in work and in everyday life. Vocabulary is also an important focus of the course. Awareness of the international standard of business English correspondence skills will be put into practice at all times throughout the course. This is a full-time, hands-on computer writing course guided by an instructor.


GENERAL OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of the course is that participants will be able to correspond effectively and practically in the international business world. This course also involves reading, listening as well as speaking. The course focuses on providing participants with the skills to create internal and external messages, memos, e-mails and faxes effectively in English.


EXAMPLE OF SUBJECT MATTER
- Layout and structure conventions of a letter.
- Style differences: Letters, faxes, e-mail.
- Introduction to Word Processing, PDF file-writing and Printing documents.
- Differences between spoken and written language.
- Letter and e-mail writing style.List of topics for practicing business correspondence.
- Typical business documents in a supplier/customer transaction.
- More skills for effective Business Correspondence.
