Page 7 of 7 TOEIC® testThe TOEIC® (Test of English for International Communication) test is an Englsih language proficiency test for people whose native language is not English. It measures the everyday English skills of people working in an international environment. The scores indicate how well people can communicate in English with others in business, commerce, and industry. The test does not require specialized knowledge or vocabulary beyond that of a person who uses English in everyday work activities. The TOEIC® test is used for: * Recruiting, promoting and placing employees - The test scores show if employees have the necessary English-language skills to carry out specific job responsibilities. * Job training - To be able to participate in (and benefit from) on-the-job training conducted in English. * Important negotiations - To make sure an employee possesses the English proficiency to handle sensitive situations. * Overseas assignments - To determine who can work and interact successfully if posted to an English-speaking country. * In-house language training - Use the test to document English proficincy and progress. |
